I trained at Cheltenham College of Art and have made painting and teaching art my career ever since. After leaving college I worked as Director of Art and Design at The Mill Hill School in North London and then moved to Yorkshire where I live with my husband Alan, son Martyn, daughter Ali and beloved Labrador Martha.
My work reflects the fun I had on childhood holidays at the seaside and the sunny days of time spent on the coast with our own children. Times of simple pleasures.
I enjoy making sketches where ever I go, be it walking in the dales or visiting the more industrial areas of the North. Simplifying the detail and always noticing the quirky humour around us. Each year I am drawn back to Cornwall where I gather so much of my material and I enjoy comparing the colours of the South West with those of the North East coast which I visit regularly throughout the year.
I paint what makes me smile and hope that some of that joy is conveyed to those who take time to look at my work.
