Master Artist of Light & shadows Graham Carver has an uncanny instinct for finding and painting the scenes of our imagination. His sunbathed work creates deep nostalgia, a longing for hot unworried summers, the rural idyll. He has an extraordinary ability to capture a sense of peace and safety, of a pastoral England as once it must have been.

After a Norfolk childhood, Graham studied art and design at Hornsey College, London before going on to study painting at Leeds College of Art. Having settled in Yorkshire he taught art and design for a number of years before becoming a full time professional painter.

Barden Bridge is an attractive three-arched humpbacked bridge across the River Wharfe north of Bolton Abbey on the eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
